Is this service right for me?
Professional guidance when you're unsure what to do next. This pay-as-you-go service is suitable for adults seeking guidance for themselves, relatives and carers.
We can discuss mobility around the home, falls or changes in mobility, difficulty with everyday activities, transfers, equipment or adaptations, changes in care needs, concerns about an older relative managing at home, accessing community or statutory services, understanding where to start, and making sense of information already received from other professionals.
What’s included
A focused conversation about your concerns
Independent professional guidance
Practical recommendations
An explanation of possible next steps
Practical guidance may be provided where appropriate, including questions to raise with existing professionals, possible health or social-care pathways, and relevant services to contact.
What happens
Before:
You can share a brief summary of the situation and the questions you would like to cover.
During:
Alana listens to your concerns and explores the situation from an Occupational Therapy perspective.
Afterwards:
Practical guidance, signposting and clearer next steps may be discussed where appropriate.
Important to know
This telephone consultation is an advice and guidance service.
It does not replace a full Occupational Therapy assessment where one is clinically required.
Recommendations are based on the information provided during the consultation.
For equipment, moving-and-handling needs, environmental risks or complex functional difficulties may require an in-person assessment.
Our approach
This is pay-as-you-go: there is no subscription, no ongoing commitment and no expectation to book further consultations. If one conversation provides the clarity you need, no further booking is required.
If an in-person OT assessment or another professional service is more appropriate, Alana will explain this clearly.
Common questions
Is this a full OT assessment?
No. This service provides focused advice and guidance based on the information discussed.
Can a family member join the call?
Yes, where this would be helpful and the person receiving the service agrees.
Safety & boundaries
Quiet Confidence OT is not an emergency or crisis service.
If someone needs urgent medical attention or is at immediate risk, contact the appropriate emergency or healthcare service.
Why this service exists
Quiet Confidence was created for people who feel overwhelmed by health and social care systems and need someone experienced to listen, explain their options and help them move forward.
Sometimes you do not need another leaflet, number or waiting list—just a conversation with someone who understands.
